Human Rights Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Kelson is committed to respecting the dignity, rights, and freedoms of every person with whom we interact.

We recognise the fundamental human rights set out in internationally recognised principles, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization's fundamental principles and rights at work.

We seek to conduct our business in a way that respects these rights and to avoid causing, contributing to, or knowingly benefiting from human rights abuses through our activities or business relationships.

Respect for people

Every person we work with should be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, intimidation, violence, or degrading treatment.

We respect differences between people and recognise that everyone should have a fair opportunity to work and participate in professional life without discrimination.

Freedom from forced labour and human trafficking

Kelson has zero tolerance for forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, slavery, or any form of work performed under coercion.

People must be free to accept or decline employment and to leave employment in accordance with applicable law and contractual terms.

We do not support recruitment practices involving deception, coercion, threats, retention of identity documents, or worker-paid recruitment fees.

Our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking is set out in our Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy.

Child labour

Kelson does not employ children in violation of applicable law or internationally recognised standards.

We do not knowingly support or benefit from child labour through our business relationships.

Where age-related risks are relevant to a recruitment or business relationship, we expect appropriate safeguards to be applied.

Freedom of association and collective representation

We respect the right of people to lawfully associate, organise, and participate in collective representation in accordance with applicable law.

We do not tolerate retaliation against a person for exercising these rights lawfully.

Fair and decent working conditions

We believe people should work in conditions that protect their health, safety, dignity, and basic rights.

We expect appropriate working conditions, fair treatment, lawful remuneration, reasonable working hours, and freedom from abusive or coercive employment practices.

Where Kelson does not directly control working conditions, we expect our clients, suppliers, and other relevant business partners to respect applicable labour standards.

Privacy and personal information

We respect the privacy of candidates, clients, employees, and other people whose information we handle.

Personal information should be collected, used, stored, and shared responsibly and only for legitimate purposes.

Our approach to personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Responsible recruitment and professional integrity

As a search firm, we recognise that our decisions and practices can affect people's professional opportunities and livelihoods.

We therefore aim to:

  • communicate opportunities honestly;
  • avoid misleading candidates about roles, clients, or employment conditions;
  • assess people against relevant professional criteria;
  • respect a person's decision not to participate in a search;
  • avoid unnecessary barriers to fair consideration; and
  • maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling personal and professional information.

We do not knowingly use our services to facilitate discrimination, exploitation, coercion, or other serious violations of human rights.

Business relationships

We expect clients, suppliers, contractors, partners, and other organisations working with Kelson to respect fundamental human rights.

Where appropriate to the nature and risk of a relationship, we may consider human rights risks as part of our due diligence and business decisions.

Where credible concerns arise, we may seek clarification, request appropriate corrective action, suspend activity, or discontinue a relationship depending on the circumstances.

Raising a concern

Anyone working with Kelson — including employees, candidates, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders — may raise a concern about a suspected human rights violation connected to our business or relationships.

Concerns should be reported to:

contact@kelsonsearch.com

We will treat concerns seriously and handle them with appropriate confidentiality.

No person who raises a genuine concern in good faith should experience retaliation or disadvantage as a result.

Where appropriate and lawful, we may refer serious concerns to relevant authorities or other appropriate organisations.

Remediation

Where Kelson identifies that its activities have caused or contributed to a serious human rights concern, we will seek to take appropriate steps to address the situation and prevent recurrence.

Where a concern is directly connected to a business relationship, we will consider appropriate action based on the circumstances and our ability to influence the situation.

We will seek to ensure that our response does not unintentionally create further harm for affected individuals.

Our responsibilities

Respect for human rights is a responsibility shared across Kelson.

Everyone working with us is expected to act consistently with this policy.

Those responsible for managing people, searches, suppliers, and client relationships have an additional responsibility to identify relevant risks and respond appropriately to concerns.

We will review this policy and our related practices periodically and update them where appropriate.

Our standard

Human rights are fundamental, not conditional.

We believe that commercial success should never depend on compromising a person's dignity, freedom, safety, or basic rights.

At Kelson, our standard is simple:

Respect people. Protect dignity. Do business responsibly.
